While there is technically several more market days before thanksgiving, this is my final market before thanksgiving. Not that it matters that much given that I am not preparing the Thanksgiving meal and am instead brining a casserole that is full of stuff you don’t get at the farmers market. I was kind of amazed that no one had leeks. But I did find more baby yukon golds… the ones I bought several weeks ago were amazing! You know how potatoes are kind of just potatoes? These little guys, for some reason, maybe it is because they were pulled earl hence the “baby” but the flavor was incredible. I also didn’t find some greens I wanted but that is why I’m headed back out to do a Costco run and swing by New Leaf for things like leeks, arugula, and whatever else that is on my list that is not in front of me.
Oh! I wasn’t planning on this but they had corn! And since we still have green beans I decided I am going to do fresh version of my families green beans and corn recipe. Nope, can’t leave well enough alone. Have to go and change everything. Hopefully I can use that to get back into posting more regularly than my once a week farmers market trip.
