What bright crisp morning at the market today. After a nice little heat wave we are cooling back down to autumn weather. The seasonal change of the market is finally taking place. Apples, pears, and grapes are the front runners in fruit. Along with a heavy showing of persimmons and pomegranates. Noticed several vendors with dikon radishes and napa cabbage. But best of all? Winter squash is starting to make its appearance!!! I was able to get the squash below for $0.50 per/lb. I’m hoping to build up a good stock pile of squashes for the winter this year since they store so well in a cold garage.
- Kale
- Carrots
- Garlic
- Golden cauliflower
- Ambercup squash (not sure if that is correct kind but I think it is pretty close based on the descriptions I’ve read)
- Bartlett pears
- Pink lady apples (so incredibly sweet!!!)
- Lemons
- Pomegranates
