Farmers Market 8/2/12

It felt good to get back to the market today. After one too many runs to Safeway around and between travel days, I am reminded once again why I love and appreciate everything I buy at the farmers market. Big box grocers simply cannot compare to what farmers markets offer.

I went for a little of everything today as I am still trying to get back into the flow of cooking. I probably purchased too much considering we will be gone this weekend, but ehh, options are good right? I found some little purple cauliflowers today… squee! The lady who was stacking them up didn’t exactly share my excitement and gave me that odd look. Tomatoes are out in full force. Expect a ton of heirloom tomatoes in the next month. Oh and a french tomato tart will be making an appearance sometime this month.
